Here are CISSP “Lunch and Learn” 2021 course details:
- CISSP “Lunch and Learn” course presents all 8 Domains of the Common Body of Knowledge for the Certification
- The course is presented by four PhDs from The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, two JHU/APL staffers with Master’s Degrees in Cyber Security/Information Assurance, my COMSUBLANT N6 Sponsor, Rob Zalaskus, GS – 15, Dean Smith, the Solutions Director for G2 OPS, and me. All Presenters are CISSP certified.
- The course dates are from Sep 13 – Oct 18, 2021
- Class is presented via Web Ex, so students can dial in toll free from anywhere. We had a student last year who was at the U. S. Embassy in Baghdad.
- Active students are given Web Ex recordings of the Domain presentations, and the slides from Presenters as study aids for the CAT Exam.
- There are other study aids (“thumbnail sketches” of CS technologies), standardized Domain “Cheat Sheets,” a soft copy of the Final Practice Exam (289 questions)
- There is no “guaranteed pass” from this course. Students are responsible for CAT (Computer Analyzed Testing) Exam preparation.
- The CISSP CAT Exam is 100 questions, with a 3 hour time limit. If the Exam taker starts getting questions wrong, more questions are added, to a maximum of 150, but the 3 hour time limit does not change.
- The CAT Exam costs $699. Exam cost is the student’s responsibility. (Can take through ECPI University’s GetCertified at a reduced cost!!)
- The course text this year is the CISSP Exam Guide, 9th Ed. (Stewart, Chapple, et. al.) The CAT Exam was updated for 2021, so we needed to go with the text that included the changes.
- Students are responsible for buying the book. Cost of a new CISSP Exam Guide is $70.
- The CAT Exam fee and the course text are the only costs for the students, the course itself is free.
- A CISSP Boot Camp costs between $2,500 – $6,000. The Presenters are doing this at no cost, as a “give back” to the students.
