Centra is offering an internship to the upcoming May 2017 new RN graduates. The internship will be offered to those students who accept a Centra RN position.

The internship enables the student nurse to start the hiring and orientation process at Centra prior to graduation. This position allows the intern to onboard and start orientation as they transition from student to Registered Nurse. The internship includes a monetary incentive of $1500. STUDENT NURSE INTERNS MUST COMPLETE: BeACentraNurse.com Professional Nursing Development REQUIREMENTS:

• Complete the application for the RN/New Graduate position. • Must indicate on the New Graduate Application cover letter of your desire to be considered for the Student Nurse Internship program at Centra.

• The nurse recruiter will review the application and forward to hiring managers.

• Interviews for selected candidates will be conducted on the perspective units.

• If a job offer is extended, Centra will require a decision within 24 hours from the completion of the interview/job offer. The job title will be Student Nurse Intern and the rate of pay will be $10.20 per hour.

• Human Resources onboarding appointments. • Attend orientation of 40 hours: • March 6 – 10 • March 13 – 17

• After the week of orientation, the Student Nurse Intern will be assigned to work with a preceptor on the hiring unit.

• Complete a minimum of 100 hours with preceptor through May 19, 2017 • Minimum of 4 hour shifts and maximum of 12 hours shifts to be scheduled with Unit Preceptor

• Tracking form will be provided during orientation to document work hours and to be verified by the preceptor.

• At the completion of General Orientation/Nursing Orientation (40 hours) and the required 100 precepted hours, the Student Nurse Intern will submit the tracking form to the Unit Manager for validation.

• The Unit Manager will submit the required forms for the $1500 Early Orientation Bonus.

• After graduation, the Student Nurse Intern will continue to orient an additional 220 hours on the unit which must be completed by June 30, 2017.

• Once the Student Nurse Intern receives their letter of authorization from VBON, they are responsible to notify their Unit Manger and Nurse Recruiter.

• The manager will change the job title to RN Applicant and the pay rate will be increased to the RN rate of pay quoted upon hire.
