Food Drive Begins March 1st!

We are teaming up with Roanoke County Schools again this year to gather food for the Pack-A-Sack Program to benefit kids in our community who go without food.

Items we are collecting:

  • Individual pouches or cups of fruit or applesauce
  • Small Jars of peanut butter (they have at the Dollar Tree)
  • Individual servings of Chef Boyardee OR Vienna Sausages
  • Individual Packs of Peanuts or trail mix
  • Pouches or cans of Tuna
  • Small boxes of raisins
  • Any other non-perishable individual size fruit or protein

HERE’S THE FUN PART!!

We will have a contest between programs. Winners will have a dessert buffet on Monday April 3rd. One for day student winners and one for night student winners.

The teams are…….RN’s and MA’s    vs      IT, HIM and LPN’s. (That equals ABOUT 100 students on each team)   Faculty and staff can vote for whichever team they chose.

Here’s how to win!

When you bring in items, please take them to the library and tell the librarian on duty what program you are in and they will mark your votes. *If you bring in a 12pk of apple sauce pouches and a 24pk of canned vienna sausages, that is equal to 36 votes! Team with the most votes on March 31st at 6pm wins! *Last year it was EXTREMELY close!!*

Pack-A-Sack program packs brown paper sacks for children in need and sends them home with the children on weekends, holidays, snow days, Spring Break etc. These children eat breakfast and lunch at school, but may not have food at home. Many students right here in our community come to school hungry. This is a way we as a school can help support our community. Thank you so much!
